Solving the Portland Mysteries
Back to the past: Atta and Alomari in the future on 11/10/01. Did they get back to 9/11/01?
In memory of the two heroes Marty Mcfly and Doc Brown. 😃
These two guys(picture above) are Mohamed Atta and Abdulaziz Alomari when they were filmed in a gas station in Portland on 9/10/01. This photo is FBI evidence.
The next day, they reportedly flew with Colgan Air 5930 from Portland to Boston early in the morning to get to the connecting American Airlines No. 11 flight, hijack it, and steer it into the North Tower.
The transfer time in Boston was only about 1 hour. To this day it is not clear what the reason for this trip was in the first place.
To the photo: The date is 11/10/01 - two months in the future!
However, the only ones who could do that are Doc Brown and Marty McFly. But as you can see, the two in the gas station of course are not Marty and the Doc.They also didn't drive a Delorean, but a Nissan. 😉
This photo looks like an accidental fake and this is just one of many discrepancies.
I will now try to find out the reason for this obviously wrong story and what is really behind it.
What was going on in Portland?
The two checked in a wheeled suitcase(Travelpro and Travel Gear) each in portland to be checked through to Los Angeles. These two suitcases ran under Atta's name, but did not make the connecting flight. Responsible for this mishap was ticket agent Touhey, because he thought the two were terrorists.
These guys paid big bucks, $2,400 in cash for first-class, one-way tickets connecting in Boston to Los Angeles. Link
According to the official version, Atta and Alomari had business class tickets. The only hijackers in first class were therefore the Alshehri brothers.
“I never liked the system where you give a boarding pass to a
follow-up flight. I worked for US Airways, not American. So I just gave
them a boarding pass from here to Boston.”
“They told me one-step check-in,” Atta insisted. “They told me one-step check-in.” Link
However, he did put extra green tags on their checked bags. In
accordance with the CAPS computer program, then in effect, that was a
flag not to load the bags on the plane until the passenger had actually
boarded. Link
This luggage was therefore a security risk and could only be loaded once the passenger in possession had boarded the aircraft. This regulation has to be mandatory for every airport, also for the Portland airport.
Baggage handler Joseph Bureau of Portland airport has the following recollection for flight Colgan Air 5930:
FBI (Page 26, 27)
So 4 pieces of luggage were loaded separately. This must have been the "security-issued" luggage of Atta and Alomari. The standard roll-away observation agrees with the Travelpro and Travel Gear suitcases. The 2 small duffel bags were probably thought as hand luggage.
Co-pilot Anderson said they both took small travel bags on board. FBI (Page 11)
Maybe the two guys thought that you are allowed to carry 2 pieces of hand luggage per person first class. Unfortunately, Colgan Air doesn't have first class.
It is most astonishing that these 2 duffel bags are not mentioned anywhere else. We'll see what that's all about in a moment.
Boston Airport - The Rosetta Stone:
The 2 suitcases got stuck at the airport in Boston. When the FBI opened the 2 suitcases, their astonishment must have been great.
Seized by FBI agents at Boston's Logan Airport, investigators said, it
contained Arab-language papers revealing the identities of all 19
hijackers involved in the four hijackings, as well as information on
their plans, backgrounds and motives.
A former FBI agent and a former federal prosecutor who helped direct the
New England investigation of the Sept. 11 attacks told Newsday that one
bag found in Boston contained far more than what the commission report
cited, including the names of the hijackers, their assignments and their
al-Qaida connections.
Flagg and the former prosecutor, however, said it was the second bag that identified all 19 hijackers.
"That was the one that became the Rosetta stone," Flagg said. Link
The first bag is that of Mohamed Atta and the second bag is that of Alomari. But who are they?
Atta and Abdulaziz Alomari
Abdulrahman Alomari -The Pilot
The FBI now believes suspected hijacker Abdul Aziz Alomari -- one of
the men officials believe was aboard American Airlines Flight 11, which
slammed into the north tower of the World Trade Center -- played a "key
leadership role" in the September 11 terror attacks, law enforcement
sources tell CNN.
The sources told CNN that the FBI gathered evidence such as e-mail
messages, phone calls, airplane tickets and contacts made by the suspect
before the strikes that indicate Alomari played an important role. CNN
According to this, not Atta, but Alomari was the first leader of the hijackers. But who is Abdulrahman and who is Abdulaziz? The amazing answer:
Abdulrahman and Abdulaziz Alomari are brothers! FBI.(Page 7 and 9)
Abdulrahman is a pilot of Saudi Airlines and still alive. His brother is a hijacker and presumably dead. More of Alomari in my Blog.
Abdulrahman Alomari was on the passenger list of Flight 11 Boston Globe
Abdulrahman Alomari and Atta both lived in Florida and Abdulrahman even had a parking lot at Attas Address in Florida. FBI (Page 14/15)
The role of Alomari, the pilot, is still unknown and obviously a big mystery.
Did something completely different happen in the days before?
Attas drinking binge
It is known that Atta was at Shuckums bar in Hollywood, Florida on 9/7/01. He was in the bar with 2 other guys getting drunk. Even the FBI was there on 9/11 evening, which suggests that the bill was found in Atta's bag.
On Friday evening, Amos said Atta and the other man came into the
Shuckums. The pair had been in the restaurant several times before, Amos
said. This time, they were there from about 4:30 p.m. until about 7
p.m. Link
Baggage missing?
Officially Atta flew from Fort Lauderdale to Baltimore that day, but flight 2719 took off at 3:15 pm according to BTS. According to FBI (page 2- row 9/5), Atta had also booked a flight from Fort Lauderdale to Boston that day, on US Airways flight 2698. But 2698 is a flight to Baltimore, not to Boston. There is a flight 2598 with Delta to Boston at 19:10 and this flight would fit in time.
According to the witnesses at the bar, Atta must have flown to Boston that day instead of Baltimore.
Keep in mind that Suqami and Abdulaziz Alomari on 9/6/01 both took Delta flight 2462 from Fort Lauderdale to Boston. They both checked a single piece of luggage. FBI (page 109)
On 09.09.01 first Fayez called from the Delta baggage terminal Atta. After that, the Delta baggage claim itself called Atta. .FBI (page 127)
Normally you do that when you miss your luggage.
Alomari/Suqami's luggage(1 bag) should have arrived in Boston on 09/06/01, Atta's (presumably 1 bag) on 09/07/01. Probably it was these two suitcases that got stuck in Boston coming from Portland as mentioned before
It looks as if Atta had already missed this luggage at least on 09.09.01.
It looks as if Atta had already missed this luggage at least on 09.09.01.
Meeting place Bangor
Spencer Rascoff, founder of hotwire, says the following in an interview:
Hotwire actually sold some of the tickets to the hijackers.
Not that it makes much difference, but it wasn't the September 11
flights, it was the flights a couple of days earlier that put the team
in place in Bangor, Maine, and then they flew from Bangor to Logan. Link
In Maine, authorities impounded a blue Nissan Altima found at the
Portland International Jetport that they believe provided the
transportation for five suspected terrorists. Investigators suspect the
car was driven to Bangor, Maine, where three of the suspected
terrorists allegedly boarded a flight to Boston. Then, the other two
suspects drove the car back to Portland and boarded a separate flight to
Boston.
ABC (here is also a report from four arabs who wanted to buy a cell phone anonymously over the weekend.)
Two suspects in Tuesday's terrorist attacks in the United States crossed
the border from Canada with no known difficulty at a small, border
entry in Coburn Gore, Maine, which is usually staffed by only one border
inspection officer, a U.S. official said today. Another suspect appears to have slipped into the country from Canada at a
border crossing at Jackman, Maine, one of the four busiest land entry
ports in the state, while one or more may have ridden a ferry from Nova
Scotia, docking at a port in Maine.
The cross-border points for the hijackers from Canada were therefore Coburn Gore, Jackman and Bar Harbor/Portland (from Nova Scotia).
But why would the 19 hijackers smuggle in more people from Canada when they already had enough people in the USA? -> Because they didn't have any real professional pilots in their ranks who could pilot a large transport aircraft. Abdulrahman Alomari would be one of them.
Of course, since Alomari is still alive, this could not have been a suicide operation. Accordingly, another plane must have flown into the North Tower or the passengers were on another plane.
More of the pilots in my Blog.
What did Atta do on 08.09.01?
When he arrived in Boston on 07/09/01 in the evening still drunk, he will not have done much. The following is known from 08.09.01 FBI (page 121):
* * *
This contradicts the official version, according to which Atta had rented the Nissan on 09.09.01.
This contradicts the official version, according to which Atta had rented the Nissan on 09.09.01.
Police and law enforcement sources said the two
brothers suspected in the Boston hijackings were Adnan Bukhari and Ameer
Abbas Bukhari, who up until recent days had lived in Vero Beach,
Florida. Both of their homes have been searched, the sources said. The two rented a car, a silver-blue Nissan Altima, from an Alamo
car rental at Boston's Logan Airport and drove to an airport in
Portland, Maine, where they got on US Airways Flight 5930 at 6 a.m.
Tuesday headed back to Boston, the sources said.
CNN
The problem here is that Ameer Bukhari died in a plane crash a year ago and Adnan Bukhari was still buying furniture in Florida on 9/11/01. Link
So the 2 guys who rented the Nissan in Boston must have signed the lease as "Bukhari" with false identities.
Atta allegedly made 2 wire transfers in Laurel that were found in the trash from the Comfort Inn Motel FBI (page 121). Apart from the fact that he could not have boarded the flight to Baltimore, the signature on the wire transfer does not match Atta's signature:
The signature on the wire transfer (top left) differs significantly from Atta's usual signatures (Mailbox, Huffman, Warrick). Whether this is the arabic signature is not known. The signatures can be found at prosecution trial exhibits of Moussaoui. Link
We can assume that the person who signed the transfer could have also stayed at the Comfort Inn Motel.
In Atta's case it would be logical that he also flew to Maine on 08.09.01 as the second leader of the hijackers. Accordingly, he would have had to take a flight via Delta Airlines, e.g. to Bangor, and would have had to have checked in his and Alomari's suitcases. As previously reported, Abdulaziz Alomari and Suqami arrived in Boston with Delta one day before Atta. Since these two suitcases were checked in Portland on 9/11/01, they must have gotten there somehow. Atta's behavior on 09.09.01 suggests that he was already missing the two suitcases at that time.
Tracing the tracks in Portland
The two guys left belongings and traces at the Comfort Inn Motel and in the 2 suitcases found. They certainly did not expect that the suitcases would be left behind and that they would be found out.
Comfort Inn Motel, Room 233
According to the FBI, the following interesting items were found in the trash that point to the identity of the persons involved: FBI (page 95...)
-Pieces of a torn Delta airline ticket in the name Alomari Abdulaziz
This fits with the assumption that Atta checked Abdulaziz Alomari's suitcase into a destination airport in Maine. The ticket should be Delta flight 2462 FLL to BOS on 09/06/01.
-Pieces of torn Delta airline receipt in the name AlSuquami Satam.
-Pieces of 2 baggage stickers DL43378 and DL43379 with the names of AlSuquami Satam
This also fits with the fact that Suqami flew together with Alomari with one luggage. Suqami did the check-in and had 1 hand luggage.
-Pieces of torn check number2593, dated 7/27/01 in the name Christine Ramsay
There is a Christine Ramsay, living in Freeport, Maine in 2001. Link
Apparently this is an acquaintance from the Portland area.-Green piece of paper with Christine and 301-229-8656.
This is the phone number of Christine McGovern, Bethesda, Maryland Link
Motel paperwork:
-Indian hill Motel brochure (Greenville, Maine)
-Trumbull House Bed and Breakfast postcard and business cards (Hanover, New Hampshire)
-Jockey cap motel brochure (Fryeburg, Maine)
Because of the post and business cards, it looks like they had stayed at the Trumbull House in Hanover, NH.
Restaurant receipts and papers:
-Fore Street Restaurant, Portland, yellow paper
-Weathervane Seafood Restaurant, receipt (Weathervane in Kittery ME, Dover NH, Chichester NH, West Lebanon NH and Laconia NH)
-Dimillos Restaurant, Portland, receipt
-Pizza Hut, Portland, Pizza box
The two were apparently at dinner twice on 10/09/01 in Portland. If they did not stay longer in Portland, the Weathervane must have been further away from Portland. Or the bill came from someone else.
Western Union receipts:
-K456 (1 receipt/1 order)Laurel, Giant Food, 5000+215 charge=5215,-
-K467 (1 order) 5215,- (Laurel Giant Food?)
-K471 (2 receipts) Laurel, Safeway Store, 2860,-
-K487 (1 receipt) ?, ?
There are 4 receipts and 1 order in total. 1 invoice dated 08.09.01 bears the stamp "GLEN". There is a Western Union in Glenburn, Maine (near Bangor) Is this the unknown receipt K487?
The Anagram: FBI (page 102)
Fedex Air Bill to UAE(Mustafa Ahmed) for ALMOHTARAM(Anagram)->ATRAHMALOM
=AT.RAHM.ALOM = AT (Abdul)RAHMAN ALOMARI
This is further proof of Atta's connection to Abdulrahman Alomari!
Evidence was apparently not only thrown away indiscriminately, but deliberately destroyed.
The two certainly didn't expect their suitcases to be found in Boston.
Boston, Logan Airport
At the gate
Stewardess
Lynn Howland arrived from San Francisco shortly after 06:00 o'clock
with the Boeing 767 (N334AA), the "Death Flight American 11".
Leaving gate 33 she was approached by a man in pilot-like appearance
whom she identified as Mohammed Atta. FBI (page 14)
"Atta"
from Portland was on the Colgan Air flight at the time. The FBI
report puts the time at 07:00. But this cannot be his, because flight
AA198 from SFO arrived at 06:03 according to BTS. BTS
At the luggage security zone
This is where Atta and Alomari's two suitcases were found, which must have been at the Comfort Inn in Portland even earlier. As already mentioned, the suitcases were not loaded because they were a security risk. Let's see what all was found in it:
Attas suitcase, black Travelpro: FBI (page 79) K124, special finds
-various documents from Germany by Atta
-plastic aircraft measuring tool(ruler for measuring distance)
The documents appear to be authentic and thus confirm the owner as Mohamed Atta. The measuring device would probably only be useful for smaller aircraft.
Alomaris suitcase, green Travel Gear:
-blue Noun Swiss Quartz box, containing Archi card(?)
There was still a copy of the warranty of the watch brand "Noun Swiss Quartz". The watch was bought from Khayam Elektronics, UAE on 28.05.00. Abdulaziz Alomari had his birthday on 28.05. and flew from Malaysia to UAE on 27.05.01. Apparently the watch was a birthday present. Archi Card: loyality card of appartment owner at a project of Archi(?)
-Saudi Passport Abdulaziz Alomari
-International driver license Abdulaziz Alomari
The fact that both identity documents are in the suitcase makes no sense. To get back into the security area after check-in and also during boarding, an ID document is normally required. It appears that one of the two documents was placed in the suitcase afterwards.
Airline uniforms
The New York Times, among others, reported that the suitcases contained airline uniforms. Link
Alomari's suitcase contained much more clothing than Atta's suitcase (e.g. 8 shirts, 6 long pants). Among them was a shirt with a tie - was this part of a pilot's uniform?
possibly there were additionally Suqami's things in the suitcase, finally he checked in the suitcase (trash from Comfort Inn - K458, K481)
Alomaris lost ticket
According to the official statement, Abdulaziz Alomari has lost his ticket:
"A T325, lost ticket form was completed. This was not the correct form to use. By using this form Alomari claimed that American Airlines never sent him the ticket and he would not have to pay the one hundred dollar fee for the lost ticket." FBI
It can be assumed that a plane ticket of Abdulrahman Alomari would not be on the list of evidence. If this suitcase actually belonged to Abdulrahman and not his brother, then it also makes sense to report the ticket as missing because the ticket was in his abandoned suitcase.
The original ticket should read Alomari Abdul. Because of the procedure of the lost ticket and the T325, the identity of Abdulrahman may have come to light, so he made it onto the passenger list, according to the Boston Globe.
In search of traces
As discussed earlier, Atta and Alomari must have been the chief strategists of the terrorist cells. They could not have been on the flight from Portland to Boston simply because they did not have first class tickets and Atta was even seen by howland at the gate in boston at 6 o'clock. Who could these two guys be?
The two duffle bags of Portland
As already mentioned, baggage handler Bureau has also loaded 2 small duffle bags separately in addition to the two security issued suitcases Attas and Alomaris. According to the official statement, the two did not carry any such luggage with them.
So it must have been two guys who were previously unknown to us.
Witness Douglas Henson, Boston logan, Central Parking:
According to his Logan Airport Central Parking ticket, Henson entered the garage at 6:47 am on 09/11/2001. It was very busy at the garage , and took him approximately five minutes to drive from the garage entrance to where he parked on the third floor....According to Boston investigation, a white Mitsubishi Mirage with Virginia license plate YGU4417(car of hijacker Waleed Alshehri!) was parked in the space diagonally to the right front of where Henson parked...He walked to the end of the road and then took a left toward the elevator bank for Terminal C. At that time, he saw three men walking toward the Terminal C elevator bank. They came from the area of vehicles on the left side of the road that Hanson was walking down. The men were in their their 30's, and dark skinned....One of the men was kneeling on the ground looking in his duffle bag. One of the other men may also have been carrying a duffle bag. FBI (page 34, 35)
The encounter with the three men must have happened at about 7 am. This time would fit for the two passengers from Portland.
Exclude the other hijackers: Waleed and Wail Alshehri(Flight AA11) checked in at 07:04 and 07:03 am - so it is unlikely that they were one of the three men in front of the elevator. FBI (page 11, 12) Atta was already seen by Lynn Howland around 6 am. The other hijackers were Abdulaziz Alomari and Suqami - their checkin time is not known to me.
Each hijacker of Flight UA 175 checked in before 7 am, except Banihammad - his time is unknown.FBI
Therefore, if the unknown third party was one of the known hijackers of the two flights, it could only have been Abdulaziz Alomari, Suqami or Banihammad.
Duffle bags made of Canvas?
It is likely that the FBI was not investigating sailboat dealers, but was using its own coded name for this operation. This operation probably would have to follow the trail of the duffle bags and find out who owns them.
On 9/21/01, the FBI searched a bedroom and found luggage (names redacted) FBI(page 15)
Bureau: He recalls loading two small duffle bags, one which was bright yellow and which was blue. FBI(page 27)
This luggage could fit if it has some resemblance to a duffle bag. The colors blue and yellow would be correct. There are some very interesting things in this luggage:
-Approach plates of several Airports(Dulles, Reagan, JFK...)
-Colgan Air take-off and landing data card
-One sheet of lined paper containing a list of eighteen names with romm number, cell phone numbers and e-mail addresses including the names _censored_
-A small yellow lined SCM Advantage Pad with list of flight terms
-Hardcover book titled Winning Spirit by Zoe Koplowitz
-One package of Celebrex capsules-two used and two remained.
Based on the items, it can be assumed that the owner of this bag is a pilot.
The list of 18 names immediately suggests the names of the 19 hijackers.
The drug celecoxib is used, among other things, to treat rheumatism. It can lead to severe skin problems
Koplowitz's book is about a handicapped person who, despite everything, wants to succeed in participating in a marathon.
One immediately comes to the conclusion that this is a person who wants to become a pilot despite his illness.
FBI(page 19)One immediately comes to the conclusion that this is a person who wants to become a pilot despite his illness.
Suspect person
FBI(page 14)
Ruth Boyd (Director of Personnel at Colgan Air) told the FBI that a Syd Rostami had begun a training program at Colgan Air on 12/04/01.
As just mentioned earlier, the alleged Colgan Air pilot arrived at Washington Dulles on US Airways on 04/11/01. Since Rostami began his training program with Colgan Air in this region (Manassas, VA) on 04/12/01, it can be assumed that the baggage inspected by the FBI actually belonged to Rostami. According to Rostami, he was staying with his friend Haghighat in Maryland.
Since they turned it back out after only two weeks at Colgan Air, illness may well have played a role.
The pilot with acne scarring
John Kriss:
John Kriss(pilot at American Airlines) reported a very strange pilot in his jump seat, also because he had similarities to the hijacker Suqami. "The man had bad acne scarring which may have been faked."
Flight manifests does not show Suqami as a passanger or non-revenue flier. FBI (page 1)
Photos of Suqami show no acne scars on him.
Kriss list of flights and Item #5
The rolling bag contained the following items:
FBI(page 21)
Apparently, Rostami was training at the Comair flight school in Sanford, Florida during the period around 02/28/01. JAX = Jacksonville. He had the assignment to fly to Jacksonville. His short first name Syd would fit in the box("Syd", you have plane @ 5:00...).
One of the first 5 flights(MIA-LGA) listed by Kriss could be accurate, as Rostami could have been in Florida for flight training at that time! Kriss list: FBI (page 2)
Jud Petrie of Colgan Air 5930:
"One had a fairly long nose and one had a pock marked complexion on his face." FBI(page 80)
Atta and Abdulaziz Alomari(scar at cheek)are not noticeable that they have a pock marked complexion on their faces.
Phone number in the trash of Comfort Inn
The phone number 301-229-8656 leads to one person, Christine B Mcgovern. She is living in Bethesda, Maryland! Clustrmaps
Neither Atta nor Alomari had a connection to Bethesda, and no other hijacker is known to have such a connection.
But Syd Michael Rostami had such a connection, because he was registered as living in Bethesda for one year in November 2001! Address: 8342 N Brook Ln, Bethesda, MD Link
Summary
I will try now to reconstruct the process.
Atta and Abdulrahman Alomari, the Pilot, were the ringleaders of the hijackers.
Shortly before 9/11 Alomari and 3 other pilots traveled undetected from Canada to the U.S. and recruited with other hijackers in Bangor, Maine. Atta and Alomari's suitcases, taken care of by Suqami and Alomari's brother Abdulaziz, were lost on the flight from Boston to Bangor. The "Bukhari brothers" (false identity), who smuggled some pilots by car across the Canadian border, were given the task of taking care of Atta's and Alomari's lost luggage. Since lost luggage requires a delivery address, the address of Alomari's acquaintance in Portland was provided. The "Bukharis" then had to pick up the 2 lost suitcases from the acquaintance and to fly first class as "Atta" and "Alomari" from Portland to Boston the next day and check the suitcases through to Flight 11. The first class paper tickets were forged and the two guys never intended to board flight 11 and fly to Los Angeles. In order to be able to operate with the forged tickets in the booking system, 7 first class bookings with Noris and Cooper were reserved by "Intervia" beforehand, none of which appeared, of course. See my Blog.
The two "Bukharis" aka "Atta" and "Alomari" were probably seen by witness Douglas Henson in the central parking garage with their duffle bags. They were probably already leaving the airport in a car with the help of a third person.
The whole thing blew up because Touhey in Portland declared the luggage of the two as a security risk. The two suitcases therefore got stuck in Boston and the two duffle bags led the FBI to the two real identities. Evidence in the trash from the Comfort Inn and in the duffle bag is very clearand and it leads to a suspect who resides in Bethesda. This suspect could also have made the money transfers (including in Laurel, a neighboring town to Bethesda) in Atta's name. To do this and also travel as Atta in Portland, he must have had Atta's ID or a forgery of it. How the FBI found out about the suspects from the duffle bags (surveillance cameras, witnesses...?), you have to ask them yourself. But the title "canvas businesses along Route 1" is significant enough.
